Fantasy Cricket on Drem
On this page
Fantasy cricket is the heart of Drem. You pick real players from an upcoming match, they score points for what they do on the field, and your total is ranked against the other teams in your contest. This guide takes you from the match list to a finished team.
How fantasy cricket works on Drem
- Pick a match. The Cricket tab lists fixtures with the format (T20, ODI), the series, a countdown and the prize pool.
- Build your team. Choose your eleven from the two squads, within the limits shown on the team screen.
- Name a captain. Your captain’s points are multiplied, so this is the most important choice you make.
- Join a contest. Confirm your entry before the countdown reaches zero.
- Follow it live. Your contests and points are under My Matches.
Matches you can play
The list is not limited to the biggest fixtures. On the day we checked it ran from a Pakistan v Sri Lanka T20 international, with a prize pool above ₹42 lakh, to a World Championship of Legends game, an ICC league ODI and a T20 World Cup regional qualifier. Use the Recommended, Starting Soon and Popular filters to sort them.
Building a balanced eleven
A fantasy cricket team is made of four kinds of player. The exact number allowed in each role is shown on the team screen.
| Role | Scores points for | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Wicketkeeper | Runs, catches, stumpings | A keeper who bats in the top four |
| Batter | Runs, boundaries | Openers and number three — they face the most balls |
| All-rounder | Runs and wickets | Players who both bat in the top six and bowl their full quota |
| Bowler | Wickets, economy | Bowlers used at the start and at the death |
Choosing a captain
On most fantasy cricket platforms the captain earns double points and the vice-captain one and a half times. Check the Points System page in Drem’s Fantasy Help menu for the exact multipliers, then choose with them in mind: an all-rounder who is involved in both innings is usually the safest captain, because there are two ways for the points to come.
Six tips that make a difference
- Wait for the line-ups. The match card shows when they are out. A player who is not in the eleven scores nothing.
- Read the format. In T20, top-order batters and death bowlers dominate. In ODIs, middle-order batters and spinners have more time to score.
- Think about the pitch. A flat pitch favours batters; a slow, turning one favours spinners.
- Follow the batting order, not the name. A star at number seven may face six balls.
- Use one differential. In a large contest everyone picks the same stars; one well-chosen outsider is what separates the top of the table.
- Do not leave it late. The deadline is the start of the match. Edit after the toss, but finish in time.
Common beginner mistakes
- Picking eleven players from the team you support.
- Choosing a captain on reputation rather than role.
- Ignoring the smaller matches, where knowing the squads counts for more.
- Entering more than you planned because the prize pool looks large.
